I've studied briefly with I Nyoman Wenten, the Balinese music professor at Cal Arts. According to him, young people in Bali want nothing to do with Gamelan and he couldn't be happier that it's surviving through the interest of Westerners.

first of all, I don't even give a shit about what you just said about my insults to these people who obviously aren't talented. and second of all what you said about my being a grammatically incompetent person is completely irrelevant to my insults which perceive as only being the best thing you can come up with as far as trying to insult me. so goodbye and FUCK YOU mate!
Hi critique. I've noticed u dissing alot of other perceived "faults" in Indonesian and Filipino traditional stuff. My assumption is that you are from either of these backgrounds. These guys at least are keeping an ancient tradition alive; whether they're puti or whatever, it really does NOT matter! I'm not a white person but I feel offended by what you'd written! Please DON'T judge people by something as shallow as "skin-colour".
Hey critiquevirtuoso, you are a complete idiot. Besides completely missing the point about a bunch of obviously talented musicians paying homage to an intricate culture, you are also totally inept at constructing a grammatically correct sentence! News flash--Computer programs come with spellcheck and grammar, so there is no excuse (other than you are a total dullard) for you to screw up a very easy post. You douche, get back on the short bus and finish the 4th grade!
Completely awesome

Telling from seeing your posts for various gamelan videos, a white guys who raps is less offensive than the way you write.

The best way to experience a culture is to become part of it. I'm impress they managed to keep their sarongs up, that was quite a feat.
