A Max Fleischer promotional flip book featuring a crude drawing of Koko the Clown in a walk cycle. This was shot by J.J. Sedelmaier. See this post on Cartoon Brew:
It's ironic that such an impression could be made and yet the particular SUPERMAN cartoon is not remembered. They are"'unforgettable" and certainly worth watching again.
I think the first time I really understood how great the studio was was when I saw an early Superman. I forget the title, but I had felt like I'd discovered a lost, advanced civilization, or something akin to that, because of the detail and effort they put into that. Some parallel universe where the art of animation still mattered. I'm tempted to say I'm overstating this, but I'm not :)

Wow, that totally explains the drastic change in content and quality around that time. Thanks a lot for that clarification!

This appears to have been scanned from the book, THE FLEISCHER STORY.
There appears to be a slight registration problem causing the wobble.

By the time of WWII, Fleischer Studios was no longer. The overlap started in 1941, with the official name change to Famous Studios in June, 1942.

My favorite Fleischer period would probably be from the 1920s-1937.

Fleischer studios rules. Except during wartime, then they just make me uncomfortable :)
