The PolyPower DEAP technology can be utilized for active vibration control: Here we demonstrate the capability of InLastor® Push element for cancellation of vibrations by isolating a steel measuring tape on its top from base vibration. Innovative technology for new solutions!

The base vibration is generated by an electro-dynamic shaker. When active isolation control is turned on the length of the InLastor element is controlled so that the top position of the element remains in a constant position, i.e. the top position is isolated from base vibration.

  • The actuator, used in the video, is not a Piezo actuator. It is a Dielectric Electro-Active Polymer (DEAP) actuator. For more information about DEAP visit our website. The bandwidths of DEAP actuators, similar to the one in video, are dependent on its dimensions and the load they are supporting. In the case of the video the bandwidth (-3dB) is approximately 100 Hz.
