On May 15, 2008, the California Supreme Court held that gay and lesbian couples have a constitutional right to marry. People from around California gathered that night in the Castro to celebrate the victory. These are some of the sights and sounds of the night, as well as some of people's reactions. Without further words, here is the celebration of among others, gay, lesbian, straight and transgender people in the Castro.

  • Our God is a consuming fire.Hebrews 12:29

  • Oh yeah, sorry. I wasn't trying to steal the praise. (or maybe I was, bad me!) Thank you ryan! You're in my area! YAY for all!

  • THank you for making this video! I gave it 5 stars. ... And i was THERE!

Oh, and people! I'm desperately trying to find a video and/or snapshot of me in the celebration. I'm flying bright ribbons around while dancing and yet I'M NOT ANYWHERE IN THE MEDIEA! I talked to the cameramen. I don't get it. So can someone please tell me if they find something with a woman with long blond hair, black dancing pants, a bright rose-pink halter top, and frantic flying pink ribbons? "TWIRLY GIRL!"

  • Nice video, Ryan. Now you just need to find a 6'+ guy to marry ;)

  • This is so dope! Thanks for telling this story. I particularly like the woman's hand sliding in her partner's back pocket.
