I'm Jeremy Steel of EidolonVisage Productions: This is a spec spot done for a GEICO motorcycle contest. Day 1&2 - ascertain & confirm resources, bike and owner, check, sound recordist & extra hand, check! Come up with a shooting schedule, concept, and creative brief. Day 3 - film stuff (used a Canon 550D a.k.a. T2i, glidecam, pistol grips, Edirol R-4 and a lot of sweat). Day 4 - transcode 2.5 hours of 1080p footage in MacPro to ProRes, sync audio, and do general 1st pass audio level mixing. Day 5 - review footage over and over and over to find some sort of story. A bit of rough editing, 1st assembly. Day 6 - Now that we had a better clue where the story was taking us, time to look into music to help compliment the piece. 500+ songs later I've narrowed the music down to 27 selections knowing that I will eventually need two for the final project. Day 7 - Bang out that story. Found the story in the Aroll and completed about 90% of the Aroll edit. Day 8 - Purchased the license for the two music pieces I decided on and used them to help finalize the Aroll edit. Stabilized some of the handheld stuff and worked on a more refined audio mix. Sound locked! Start placing Broll. Day 9 - Finish Broll edit and send Aroll and Broll to After Effects for compositing, CC, transitions, and titling. Day 10 - Finalize look in After Effects and export for deliverables. Oh yeah, had to work my full-time+ J.O.B. as well. Finally done!
