Is T-Mobile blocking Google on Nokia phones?

Nokia phones on T-Mobile's network have suddenly lost the ability to connect to Web sites requiring SSL connections, such as GMail and Google Reader.

Is T-Mobile really hobbling Nokias? I carried out a little test using three phones and two SIM cards to find out.
