Because of Russias vast numbers they were not extinguished either by the Nazis or the meat grinder that turned humans into camp dust, the Gulag. Stalin would be popular with contemporary antiSemites though; he claimed shortly before dying that he would finish the job that Hitler didn't complete regarding the Holocaust. Great guy, R.I.T.
