This was my first ride ever!

I was so scared dang.

My favorite one at Astroworld was

XLR8. People overlooked that gem. It wasn't super fast or super tall or super scary. It WAS like flying!! Going close to bushes and beams makes a 20mph ride feel like 70mph!

On Halloween nights they would turn the rear four cars around and you could ride backwards - that was fun too except you'd break a neck muscle at the top of the hill.

Wish i did, that was so cool. This is the only coaster that ever threw my cell phone and wallet into oblivion. Never found it!!

That first ride was actually The Viper. The Texas Tornado rarely worked from what I remember, but that one time I did ride it, it was awesome.

Oh dang you're right - I like the Viper too. Yeah, the tornado was shut down years before the park closed, and was never repaired; they had been planning to sell the park for a long time i think. I did get on it 6 times one day when it was running, it was awesome.

The cool thing is that Serial Thriller is now in La ronde in montreal the same cosater even the tracks they were in storage so a good use for them rode it last sunday and love it but the goliath is still the shine of la ronde but good coaster.

im from seattle and visit houston every year. I went here once and it is/was the BEST flags i've ever been to. and i've been to SFMM SFDK Both universals,both disney parks cedar point knotts busch gardens florida silverwood wild waves kings. this one was THE best park i ever went to.

@torgotom i loved XLR-8. i remember one time the guy operaring the ride asked us if we wanted to ride it again and we all said, "Sure. One more lap!" and the next thing you know, we were going up the lift hill.
