15" L7 on 1000wRMS/1800max (finally)

This video shows the L7 after putting in the Alpine MRD-M1001 V12 amplifier. 1000wRMS and 1800max. full DSP processing, no gain, no bass boost of any kind used in this video. @ a stereo comp, i took 2nd place next to 2 12s finishing @ 141.4dB, compared to my score @ 141.3dB.

Sadly, this system is no longer.
My new car, an 02 Trans Am, is getting an audio transformation, front having component Alpine S 6.5s, back having 4" JBL 2 ways, amped by 50x4wRMS amp, and 2 new 6.5"DVC Bazooka subwoofers in the sail panels @ 100wRMS, and a 10" Alpine X in a JL stealthbox, using the amp shown in the video here. Deck is an Eclipse 5100

This amplifier is fused at 80 amps, and the wire is fused at 100, the display on the amplifier HAS SEEN levels of over 85 amps being drawn, and the excursion of the subwoofer at that point was astounding.

UPDATE12/09

One voice coil finally had it, but I'm still bumpin it in my new 97 Bravada, and even on a single coil @ 750wRMS, it still shakes the roof. Hopefully a new FI BL 18" in a 6 cube box@ 32-33hz is in the works next.

This kind of movement at zero amp gain? Did you boost all the HU levels or something? I've never seen a woofer move like this with zero amp levels. Nice system though! I bet it would have been a beast in your new car!

eqs on the HU were on, not sure the freq or anything, and sub level @ HU was at max, +10, but on the amp itself it was zero'd on everything.

and putting a taller wheel and tire combo on a vehicle without upgrading the brakes reduces its braking ability drastically, so 24s on a crown vic would create a scenario much like his mouth, it wouldnt be able to stop for anything

@lilceazy87 low pass i leave at 20hz, 100hz is the crossover and set the rolloff dB on each of them to where you would prefer (12 or 24 IIRC)

i absolutely love the amp-its powering my 18" Fi BL now, but need to get rid of my large stereo stuff. buying more power adders for my car is starting to take over.

@lilceazy87 input gain has to be matched with the headunit you use and at a specific volume where you set it at.

the EQ settings i change back and forth alot, since i use it on my 18" and my sealed type X. basically what you want to do is fill in the gaps where your subwoofer falls off. my type X for example in my trans am, falls off in the 43-47 hz area. i add just enough boost in that area for it to sound normal without any dips or peaks.

of course for SPL, you want to set to get loud ;)
