  • @thistlemiss thank you this helped me understand the bridge between in tub out of tub/water touching my gsd. He loves in and out but as soon as I had even a bit of water he started shutting down.

@carlosfunhouse2 its too bad that people with your thought process are allowed to own pets in general. I wish there was more we could do as a community to raise the criteria for owning pets.

  • @untamedxyouth You are welcome...I think I didn't desensitize her as much as I could even...but she does fine in the bath now anyway. :)

  • @carlosfunhouse2 I feel sad for your dog. Why does bathing have to be unpleasant just so you can prove how powerful you are? That's just wrong on so many levels. Food is NOT a bribe, used correctly. Properly, it's used either as a reinforcement for good behavior, or it's classical conditioning. If you learn the science behind dog training and behavior, you won't be so quick to fall for the dominance myth.

  • @thistlemiss Well they should teach that kid to float on their backs, everyone knows that.

  • @carlosfunhouse2 Okay. My dogs earn a high rate as they learn...Then once they learn something, they don't need as many treats....But we can agree to disagree on this one. That's fine.

  • @carlosfunhouse2 You would be happy to go to work each day without any paycheck at all?

  • @carlosfunhouse2 Dragging a dog into a bath tub to me would be like throwing a kid who can't swim into the deep end of the pool. He either will learn to swim, drown, or maybe learn to swim if he's lucky, but hate pools for life.

  • @thistlemiss MY dog is really happy, she just doesnt get a treat every step she makes

  • @thistlemiss Yes

  • @carlosfunhouse2 Well, that's sad for both you and your dog. Would you go to work if there were no paycheck at the end of the week? My dogs earn their meals. They work for a living and have a great time doing it. Is this bribery?
