Hello, I am a first-year pepper farmer who purchased some seeds from Neil and the Hippy Seed Company. I decided to post a video of me stupidly eating the first chocolate habanero of the season. This was, by far, the most blistering hot morsel I have ever eaten. It was quite delicious, however. It was extremely rich, but without the citris flavor of the orange habanero. We decided to record this on a whim, so we just used whatever space was left on the camera. After the video was over, I had a strong urge to pace around the kitchen like a sissy. The heat died down in about five minutes, and life was good again.

  • Great job, man!

I'm growing these this year, and I nearly puke from the heat.

  • @Andalbanon

Yeah, they are pretty intense when you first start eating them, but I think I've gotten used to them since this video. They might be my favorite pepper to use in cooking....amazing salsa.

  • Hmmm.....You smuggled your way into my facebook...and started talking about homerotic stuff...and you now you're mentioning it again here...starting to wonder if your eating all those hot peppers to get the taste out of your mouth.

  • @DeuceDemon

I don't think I'm the first to question your sexual preference...All of your friends and family agree...It's ok "Deuce Demon"...We will accept you with open arms. :)

  • The whole chili at once??!! You have some huge hueveos man! I too am sort of a first year chili farmer. My most productive chocolate hab was knocked over and the stem broke at its base. I managed to pick about 3 dozen unripe chilies from the dying plant. I cut it into rings and ate one ring. It does have a very strong citrus flavor (- the acidity of citrus) and flowery aroma. Very exotic flavoring. I can't wait until these babies ripen. Luckily I have one more healthy chocolate hab plant!

  • @TheWes0531 I agree...delicious in salsa, and the flavor really comes through. Last night, I had some salsa that a friend made a few days ago. Four peppers did the job.
