  • Caught up in a cycle of violence and dysfunction many in our societies have no hope other than that someone will be wise enough to show compassion. "Punishment" is not only the wrong model philosophically, it clearly isn't working to do anything but create a sub-class of offenders and bloated prison systems that profit from societies fearful response to them.

  • I have worked in the Texas juvenile justice system for many years and I KNOW that our old system is broken. I believe that the restorative justice model is the answer. Keep on talking, eventually this has to catch on.

  • I am very impressed to hear about this new system. I was a terribly abused child and started on a life of crime at age 13. I was sent to youth house and lucky me-it was a better experience than home. I left home and changed myself for the better. But I had issues that would come up later. I survived because I was spiritually inclined and looked for answers for my pain. I still have to fight to survive and its only because my brain has been programmed to survive.Affirmations for change work
