So wake up! and stop believing the crap the liberal media and educational system has been feeding you to keep you dependent upon them ant their entitlement programs. Programs that have strangled the will out of our communities. keeping us from thinking that we can sustain ourselves without the largesse of liberal white folks. In 1812, slaveholding states had 76 instead of the 59 they would have had; in 1833, 98 instead of 73. As a result, southerners dominated the Presidency, the Speakership of the House, and the Supreme Court in the period prior to the Civil War. Probably, without the additional Southern votes, Jefferson would lose the election of 1800. No slavery in Missouri, Jackson's Indian removal policy would have failed, No slaves in territories won from Mexico,the Kansas-Nebraska bill would fail.

Counting "all other persons" as 3/5s of their actual numbers reduced southern power relative to the original proposals, but increased it over the northern states because there were more slaves than white folks in the south. The 3/5s ratio,had a major effect on pre-Civil War political affairs due to the disproportionate representation of slave states. in 1793 slave states would have been apportioned 33 seats in the House if the seats had been assigned based only the free; instead they got 47.

You would think it would be insulting to think people would vote for a black candidate just because of his skin color, but that is EXACTLY what happened with BHO. This is about principles, conservative principles and not melanin pigmentation. Allen West, Frayser, Scott are men of CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES and that is what sets them apart from the monolithic traditional 96% blacks who vote Democrat. These men will do more for the COUNTRY than the whole CBC has done since its existence.

The three-fifths compromise is found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution and it reads:

“Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons (slaves).

The free states wanted only freed men to be counted in the south and did not want the slaves counted at all; (Freed black folks in the south, were counted as a whole person like free white people.) as the slaves could not benefit from the rights of free men.

If the South had been allowed to count slaves as a whole, it would have increased the number of Congressman sympathetic to slavery which was counter the wishes of the majority of the nation actively involved in abolishing it.

The 3/5's compromise was an anti slavery measure and it did not apply to black folks that were already free in the the majority of the country that did not have slavery. It came about because the slaves states wanted to count their slaves for the purpose of enumeration in regards to both taxes and representation in Congress.
