Batman Cacophony #1 - Comic Review - Shazap.com

This story is Kevin Smiths latest venture into the world of comics. There is no question that he is a great writer so as would be expected the story and the dialogue are great. That is his strength, but I dont know if Batman is the best title for him to be writing. Kevin Smith has a very light style of writing that is clever and humorous, but is that Batman? The world of Batman is such a dark world, even the joker who is crazy and a clown is still dark and creepy. Kevins old friend Walt Flanagan does that art and is surprisingly good. I didnt know he had it in him. I will say that I love the character of Onamonapia. It is just a funny concept poking fun at the one aspect of comics that will always remain. It is old and kind of cheesy but the vrooms and blams and pows will always be a part of comics. It is still a good story and I am going to read it because Im a huge Kevin Smith fan and the story itself is good. I believe that this will go down as a great comic adventure, but not a great Batman story.

@KevsHardLemonade That shouldnt even be in question though, Batman wouldn't even consider letting Zsasz or Joker die. Thats kind of the whole point of the character.. otherwise he might aswell just carry guns.

Kevin smiths Cacophony fuckin sucks man. Talk about pointing out the bleedingly fucking obvious. Every scene has some stupid analysis about batman that a child could figure out. Whats cool about batman is that these things are under the surface. You cant have a fucking scene where batman and joker are talking about their god damn relationship and feelings toward eachother for seven pages. Not to mention the crap story and artwork, Smith's Batman is shown as an angry, murderous,vulgar shithead
