i have a question, is this retarded woman your doctor>
-
After a year of treatment I am still in a wheelchair. I had five infections. I now have hyperthyroidism and some type of neuromuscular disorder. Persistent Lyme disease is a complex, multisystematic entity that is not just due to one disease, but autoimmune response, multiple tick-born infections, and triggered additional diseases. I was denied early treatment specifically due to this controversy and inaccurate tests. Many people require complex treatment--long-term antibiotics and otherwise.

"chronic" lyme disease is known to doctors and they do treat it.
-
The tests are known to often show false negatives- yet the patients are not informed of this. Here in Canada it was found out that many of our Labs are not shipping the blood samples correctly- thus leading to more inaccuracies. There was even a problem with one lab telling a bunch of people they did not have Lyme- when in fact they did- not told till years later. Was in the news not long ago.

A note to anyone reading the comments before this point: Do your homework- Lyme and the huge controversy around it is misleading many sick people. They get tested- the test comes back negative- and they think that they do not have Lyme- after all my Dr. says I don't.

@jp3d2k the last quote of yours is simply not true- The IDSA guidelines are biased and most certainly NOT based on ALL the evidence that exists about Lyme. The IDSA has conflicts of interest - and is basically policing themselves and there was no independent investigation. Please get your facts straight before you mislead countless people.
-
@dllmissingerror I thought you said I was a healthy person? Or are you insinuating that I am mentally insane for trusting in evidence-based medicine?
-
@jp3d2k it sounds like you might be the one who needs luck in your health.
Well put young lady , long term antibiotics probably saved my life . Lets not forget that it's perfectly OK to treat acne with long term antibiotics . Also lets not forget that Lymes closest relative is syphilis which is also not treated with 2 weeks of medication . Good luck to all who suffer from this terrible disease .
