This is a vid I made of the recently leaked "K-Project" rez beta (a.k.a. Vibes). For anyone asking for a copy, I won't give you any more info other than that I got it off of Bit Torrent.

Aside from that, this is just a one-off of me playing through the first stage in its entirety. Most of the vids I have seen don't go through the whole game, so here's this. Expect me to upload the other 3 levels plus the last boss battle. (it might take a while, though, my Dreamcast has been having some issues when trying to play this game. I think it's because this beta was designed to play on R&D systems, which probably went away with Sega.)

So yeah, two more things. One, this was captured through the Adaptec GameBridge capture card ($20 from Fry's. It works beautifully).

Two, the music was not added in later, they actually used Cowgirl and Born Slippy .NUXX by Underworld. Not the actual song, but their own versions to work with the music sequencer in the game.

  • THe game looks pretty cool, and kinda trippy.

  • Dude, get a dreamcast! it's worth it.

  • howcome america and japan get the red swirl at the start and europe get the blue one?, also is the class I lens better than

    class II?

  • The blue swirl is because of copyright infringements in Europe and Japan. Someone else beat 'em to the red swirl.

As far as Lens classes, one doesn't have anything above the other except the formats it can read.

  • thx, plus does that mean i can play american and japanese games too?

  • you'd need a bootloader like Utopia to play imports, granted your system is older than march 2000 and can play burned games.

As far as finding utopia, google is your friend.

  • how do you get this!!

  • The level select screen uses placeholder music by the artists they planned to use. Area1 users Born Slippy by Underworld, Area2 uses Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin. Area 3 uses Extra, by Ken Ishii, and Area4 uses Music Response by the Chemical Brothers. None of these songs made it into the game, other than some samples from Underworld songs, which are used in Area1.

  • @leahcimrac "Cowgirl," "Everything, Everything," "Rez" (the song the game is based on)

  • @GiantCorey Cool thanks. Any idea what other songs were used on Vibes for the other levels. I know Level 5 was the same as it is on Rez, but there must have been other songs.

  • @leahcimrac

    Underworld: Born Slippy .NUXX

  • 6:25 i recognise that song from somewhere. Anyone know what it is? Do you have the other levels by the way?

  • @spyke4995, I see,

Has for SA1, for what i heard, other then two pictures of the Beta nothing else was found in the American and European versions of SA1, but since the original Japanese version come out a year earlier, there might be some leftovers hidden deep in the code,

There's also a E3 Beta released out there,

    Here's a video of the beta, watch?v=YgsyszPHaa8

You could remake the whole level? That's great programing skills right there!

  • @dinizgames Unfortunately, no hidden levels exist in the game. :\ Though there is an option to load stage 50 on the beta, that doesn't work.

And as for Sonic Adventure, if it can't be found, I could always remake the level, and import it into the game.

  • @spyke4995, interesting, also, did you found some hidden levels and musics or something?

Also, with those skills at hacking DC games, you should try to hack Sonic Adventure 1 but the original 1998 Japanese version and see if you somehow, are able to find that Mystic Ruins Beta level who was completely different in the final version of the game...
