This is video of the fourth of six days backpacking on the Continental Divide Trail in Colorado across the Weminuche Wilderness. Day four covers Squaw Pass to Weminuche Pass.
The entire trip started at Lobo Overlook near Wolf Creek Pass, and ended about 90 miles later in Howardsville. Average mileage was 15 per day, 11 hours on the trail each day. July 2011.
@JaviAirhead Yes, I believe so. My friend (following it) called it a Ptarmigan. Thanks for watching!

Is the animal/bird in the middle of the trail a Grouse? My apologies, my computer sucks and i cant really watch these videos like videos... its more like a slideshow due to lagging. haha! Anywho, Grouse are often frozen in their tracks when threatened and enjoy not flying so perhaps that is why it just stayed in the middle of the trail til you got right next to it. lol :) im secretly a huge Weminuche fan so im watching all 6 of your vids :)
