First day, this patient was diagnosed of having Amoebic disease. Due to persistent abdominal pain, the patient was admitted for medical reason. Discharged from the hospital after three(3) days, went home with home medicines. However, after two (2) at home, still the abdominal pain was felt intermittently prompting the folks to seed consultation at another hospital(my hospital) where he boy patient (12 years old) was diagnosed to have ruptured appendicitis. Exploratory Laparotomy was the verdict. After this surgery, the patient is free from major threats and is scheduled to leave the hospital improved. What a close call! Thanks to the surgical expertise of this Filipino Surgeon and yours truly for handling the 'sleeping and awakening' from General Anesthesia!
