The gypsy miracle holds at what still remains impregnated of its origins: an Orient both indomitable and warm. At the end of the great voyage, their determination is still expressed through the cante jondo vocal style (jondo from the Spanish for deep), the most gypsy expression of flamenco. This singing style has the peculiarity, given its way of sculpting the silence, of setting us down on the edge of a chasm: that of the llanos, the outline of nonexistent tear that precedes this rolling silence, so well described by the poet García Lorca.
