This is the sonata for cello and bass in an arrangement by Trumpf, i think. Unfortunately it has been very heavily edited. The original is a lot more interesting but unplayable in modern tuning. It only works in viennese tuning. Personally i prefer to go to original scores and manuscripts instead of playing somebody's "arrangement". By the way,Sperger never wrote a sonata for bass and piano. So if you see one, you can be sure it's an arrangement.
@Labdude0 Sperger has some EXCELLENT (well, I think so!) and way underplayed chamber music that involves double bass that you may want to check out. This is actually the first time I've heard his sonata. He even has a competition bearing his name.
hi, just wondering what made you decide to put a bar or two up an octave at around bar 10. It works, just wondering how you came to the decision as I couldn't see any indication in the score.
Wonderful playing, and to watch how you are interpreting the notation is fantastic! What great technique and intonation! This is a wonderful resource for bassists at all levels of playing. Thank you for posting these.
BRAVO PINO!! Complimenti anche per le tue ultime performance televisive! Ma c'è un cd dove si può ascoltare questo Sperger che passava la sua vita a comporre concerti per contrabbasso?? ... ed altro. Forse è in mio possesso ma non mi ricordo.
