Reflections on the Pastoral Letter on Stewardship

As chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops Ad Hoc Committee on Stewardship, Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy oversaw the writing of Stewardship: A Disciples Response, the pastoral letter that would become the foundational document for the stewardship movement in the U.S. and internationally.

Following its publication, Archbishop Murphy traveled the country promoting the pastoral letter. In 1993, Archbishop Murphy spoke at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis at a stewardship conference for the five dioceses of the state of Indiana. This four-part video documents Archbishop Murphy's reflections from that evening.

Thank you so much for putting this online! Archbishop Murphy was underrated. His last days as he underwent dialysis were his finest days. He was a saint.
