The Bible among objects prohibited at the 2008 Beijing Olympics



Beijing, Nov 2, 2007 / 02:18 pm (CNA).- Organizes of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing have published a list of "prohibited objects" in the Olympic village where athletes will stay. To the surprise of many, Bibles are among the objects that will not be allowed.

According to the Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, organizers have cited "security reasons" and have prohibited athletes from bearing any kind of religious symbol at Olympic facilities.

to all Muslims.. please stop bashing the bible... it was once a book of Allah which still may have a very few verses that have not been altered. We muslims know the bible was once a book of Allah given to Isa ibn maryam and when he returns then all truth with the book will prevail inshallah.

@GODFATHER4768 Although I am not for the deity like status given to Imam Ali(ra), You are wrong when you say that he "slaughtered many people". What he had done was "destroyed many aggressors" Islam was a formidable force to reckon with and many a nation and tribe decided to attempt to subdue it for their own reasons. Islam spread by muslims inviting to the worship of one God by word, but narrow minded leaders hated it and therefore challenged the muslim with aggression to which they responded.

Violence is in Muslim(Shi'a) beliefs. One of the Imams was Ali AKA the lion of god with his sword Zulfiqar.He slaughtered so many people with that sword and the Shiites worship and praise Imam Ali indicating that they r warlike and barbaric. but for Sunnis i am not sure. something ridiculous is that Imam Ali killed many Persians yet the majority of Iran is Shiite.
