  • You know "Sgt. MacKenzie" is a lament for a British soldier, right?

  • is there anything wrong with using a lament for a british soldier on a tribute to all military serving and those who gave their lives??

  • It looked to me as though they were burning a flag. When a flag becomes unserviceable the union (blue portion) is cut away from the stripes and the two are burned seperately. This is how an American flag is properly disposed of.

  • Thank you my friend. May your god never grant you the same insight it did for me. Being blind is so much more comfortable.

I wish you well the same.

  • You need help. You have a dark soul. You need to find God! I wish you well.

  • Beautifully done. This song has always brought tears to my eyes.

I'd like to add that the writer & singer of this song, Joseph Kilna MacKenzie, passed away in his sleep, in the early hours of April 28, 2009, with his loving family at his side. He, too, was a veteran. This tune was played, appropriately, by his friend and band mate, piper Dougie Wilkinson, as his body was carried to it's final resting place. RIP Joe.

This beautiful song, Sgt. MacKenzie, is played the world over...
