wtf? Robotnik in Endless Mine?

I've been messing around with the debug mode in the 2P stages, when suddenly Robotnik appeared in Endless Mine! unfortunately I couldn't do this again yet, it was completely by random (so the recording will miss Robotnik's very coming, I had to pause this to run the recording tool). The screen was very messed up so I needed a while to figure out how to hit him (I placed a few rocks on the screen using the debug mode). But right when I was hitting him...

He was using Debug mode, his Genesis didn't glitch up.

Yeah, other people said that mashing the UP button helped them enter the code, even if it's proven (through hacking and other techniques) that only 4 are really needed. Your observation was perfectly legit, I just didn't like your attitude. It's hard that every other website on the internet is wrong and only you are right (even though it can happen, yes).

@nineko No, I believe you. Maybe it's just that doing that helps me do it faster. Either way, if it works for me, it may help other people too. Just keep hitting the up button as fast as you can at the end, even if you really only need to hit it four times.

@flarn2006 Some other experienced hackers (such as LOst, see thread 3055 on the Sonic Retro Forum for example, but there are other ones) confirmed that it works with 4 UPs. If you believe you know more than a whole community dedicated to Sonic Games, be my guest.

This is easy to reproduce.
Just use debug and goto the coordinates displayed at the start of the video.

Yes. But first you have to unlock the boundaries, otherwise you can't get that far on the right.
