@protofreak182 is that joke? try 800cc

Yeah, you need to do a basic training course (the "CBT") too before you're even allowed to go around with 'L'-plates on your 125cc!! It's about 4 hours and involves slow-control, riding around cones and then the last 2 hours are on the road.
I sat the 50 question theory test a week ago including Hazard Perception videos and passed that. Direct Access involves a few days practising on 500cc Honda, then the test is two parts - slow speed skills and on-road observed ride. Ugh. Stupid government.

Thanks for the encouragement too, btw. I'm sure I'll do fine too - I've been riding on my 13 horsepower 125cc Yamaha XVS DragStar for a year already. I'm massively looking forward to the tests, I just wish our government weren't so obsessed with nannying us, Health and Safety this and that. I know their aim is to reduce accidents, but if they make it so convoluted the crazy ones are probably more likely to want to skip it all and ride around illegally.
What bike are you riding now then?

that's insane! Yeah I'm in the US Air Force and they baby us and hold our hands too. We have to take a Motorcycle Safety Course which is about 2 days long, but after that we're good, and they encourage us to learn to ride on the actual bike we'll be riding in the real world. We also have to wear all kinds of extra safety bull crap to get on base so I know alittle bit about how you feel. I'm riding a Harley 1200 Sportster now, it's more my style, but the M50 is still a great bike!

Wow, you got up to 70mph pretty quickly.
Beautiful bike. The M50 (or Intruder M800 as it's called in Europe) is what I want for my second machine. I'm in the UK and am riding a Yamaha XVS DragStar 125cc - a learner bike, because it's the law here. Got a Direct Access test in a week and then I can ride whatever I want, providing I pass.

Haha, my current bike will get there even faster!
That's crazy about the UK law, I didn't know that. I never heard of anything like that, but it's probably for the better. I'm sure you'll do fine on the test, riding a bike isn't really too hard, and the M50 doesn't pull as hard as alot of bikes out there.
