this is a song called "the ghosts that haunt me" performed by alternative folk rock band crash test dummies,

lyrics:

There's a skeleton in everybody's closet
I can think of one or two in my own room
But I would like to introduce them both to you
You'd shake their bony hands and so dispell the gloom

'Cause you're so kind
I know you would not mind
You'd send away the ghosts that haunt me now
And the things I fear
Just wouldn't seem so near
And when I stroll out late at night
There would be nothing rattling at my heels

There are nights when all my aching bones won't let me sleep
And demons come to plague me as I lie in bed
But I know if you were sleeping there beside me then
That you could fend them off and they would let me rest

There are nights
When the wind comes howling through my old place
I have dreams
And I wake up with the sweat pouring down my face
And I wait till the morning comes

There will come a time I fear when all my days are done
And they will come collect my corpse and bury me
And then I hope you'll come over to the Other Side
To join me in our new life, keep me company

enjoy and please comment;)

  • This is definately a love song--and yet its different from any other love song out there. It highlights the hard part of loving someone, helping them with thier 'ghosts'. And yet its so optimistic and almost childlike, its my favourite love song. Thank you for the posting! Good volume quality! :)

  • you're most welcome, if you like this band too then feel free to check out my other crash test dummies music video ;)

  • @KingofStarfox Agreed: This is to really intense and everlasting love, like for instance in an old couple who spent half their lives together. NOT your average "omg, this is it, they've seen each other for just a second and know right from the start that they've been made for one another" cheesy Twilight bullshit! :p

  • @Floyd13778

    Amen to that friend!!

  • The music is upbeat and their lyircs (sp) are so clever!!! Thanks for that Vamp!! :)

  • you're most welcome DV ;)

  • @bboooobbyy the mmm mmm mm thing

  • @666midnightwolf With what? That I didn't really like Mmmmm or that the rest of the album is awesome?

  • @bboooobbyy i disagree

  • @ntaranko Yeah, I agree that Mmmm was bad. There are some great song on the album though.

  • @bboooobbyy - there are some brilliant songs on the album, but "Mmmm mmm mmm mmm" was awful. And for most people, that's all they knew. Nothing else was like it, and the majority of people lost interest. Happens to many talented bands. See, for example, the entire discography of Hanson (who matured into a really good blues-rock band) vs. "MMMMM-Bop".

  • @ntaranko You're crazy, GSHF is amazing.

  • the best album ever.

  • @mmappa10 - search for their song "Mmm mmm mmm mmm" and you'll see what happened to them. "Ghosts" was brilliant. Follow-up was popular, but sucked. Killed the band.

  • The Ghosts That Haunt Me explores the isolation and commitment inherent in Superman's life
