I had a chance to visit the historic Tower 55 in Fort Worth, TX, that is now owned by UP (Union Pacific). This was a supervised visit from a employee at UP, that had access to the top of the tower...

Sadly the top of the tower has been converted into an office, and all the rail switching equipment has since been removed. I believe that this tower has been decommissioned since 1994/1995 and now is used by the maintenance crew as a storage building. The first and second floor is pure storage with the top floor being an office used by the UP Police.

I made this video to try and show how loud the trains get when they are passing over the crossing and the wheels hitting those voids in the rails, however I loved every minute of seeing all these trains up close.

I have a lot of pictures that I am planning of making into a movie and maybe posting here.
