This was first released by Napalm Death independently but later Earache came
across Napalm Death and made an official release of the full length. The first
half was also intended to be apart of a split with British hardcore act
Avistic.
Hailed as the groundbreaking first grindcore release.
Most of the albums, re-released or not, come in varied colors: orange, gold,
green, blue, yellow. The main color of the release though is yellow as pictured
below.
The first pressing of the CD (1988) came as a 54-track CD including the "From
Enslavement To Obliteration" album and 4 bonus tracks (which are the tracks
from "the curse" EP exept for "the curse"). In 1994, the first two albums were
re-released separately.
Re-issued on vinyl in 2002. European pressing: 1000 copies on black vinyl. US
pressing: 700 copies green vinyl, 300 copies red vinyl.
Re-released as DualDisc in March 2007.
"You Suffer" is in the Guiness Book of Records as the shortest song ever
recorded, at 1.316 seconds.
