Yusuf Islam (born Steven Demetre Georgiou, 21 July 1948), best known by his former stage name Cat Stevens, is a British musician. He is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, educator, philanthropist and prominent convert to Islam.

Stevens converted to Islam at the height of his fame in December, 1977, and adopted his Muslim name, Yusuf Islam, the following year.

ugly beard. Ugly socio-political "religion" Ugly renouncing of your once beatiful music.  I feel sorry he was so weak he had to leave his true calling and become a foolish devotee of a bankrupt idiology. He was trying to be cool in the 70's but lost it all to his choice.
