@katieren1231 - I'll grant you the interpretation thing... I'm sure Morrison would grant you that as well. :-) The thing I find most interesting about this performance is the intro... It was like Morrison was speaking in two voices... male and female... At one point during the opening, you hear him say "Get him off me"... Interesting... what could he be talking about? I wonder... :-) Again, it's all open to interpretation. I'm sure Jim wouldn't give a shit either way. Right?

@FREE6678 Well....you may be correct on Jim Morrison's interpretation, though I don't want to think of it that way and it was still remade in such a way that it is open to either interpretation. The man on the side version, I prefer, but only Jim Morrison could be a "back door man" in any sense of the term and it would be just fine with me! =)

@katieren1231 - Respectfully, I disagree. The original version of the song was about exactly what you say. However, when The Doors remade the song, Morrison gave it is own twist. It is impossible to watch this performance and not know what Jim was talking about. In fact, he often spoke about his love of anal sex with young ladies. It was an ongoing joke. The Doors version of Backdoor Man is certainly about anal sex. Of this fact, I have no doubt. But... It's still a beautiful song. LOL
