Very sad to hear someone perished in this fire. It stands as a reminder homeowners to make sure you have your home checked for potential fire hazards. Very unfortunate tragedy.
@TheWaynelds Well it would not necissarily be on purpose that they started the fire. They could have done it un-intentionaly. Fires are a truly devistating thing and many of them are because of peopl forgeting to keep clothes away from heaters, or anything like that. Many of the structure fires i have been to have been caused by dryers or heaters. Forgeting to empty the lint trap in a dryer happens all the time and causes most dryer fires.
@gold2824 i didnt know people did things like that when they leave the house. It would seem that common sense would kick in and not leave things near a heater or leave lights and appliances on when you're not home. I mean you wouldnt walk through a bad neighborhood without a gun or knife would you? Well at least i dont have to worry about a fire happening when im not home, it's when i am home that i worry about it a lot. I've seen some scary fires in the neighborhood lately thats got me on edge
@TheWaynelds Well TheWaynelds, being a FireFighter myself, I know that there are many ways a fire could be started without anybody being home, as all this should be common knowledge. 1. A drying machine was left on when they left. 2. It could have been an electical fire. 3. Sombody could have left a blanket or somthing thick over a heater, not allowing it to get air, so it heats up and ignites. There could be tones more reasons that could involve carelessness, or somply a flaw with the house.
@TheWaynelds Lamp fell and sparked on the curtains.

The fire started in the back bedroom.
One fatality, an elderly man.
If I recall correctly his wife had just left to run a short errand.
