You don't need a switch if it is a power on activation just run that power to the switched power lead for the head units main power so the ignition is the switch, the same power as the stereos power, not the constant memory power lead but the switched lead for the stereo and that way it's on when the car ignition is on and off when the car is off! Simple no extra switch! The difference between methods is whether it's the backup camera or DVD enable!

hi everyone.. im having a problem getting a rca camera working on my alpine ixa-404r.. knowing i connected the rca cord to the radio and the power cord i connected with my reverse cord.. when i turn car key on first position (battery lights ON and etc ) the radio and camera woks fine.. the problem is when i put the car running.. the radio works fine but the camera stops working
anyone with suggestions???

Guitarmastercode: you are clearly someone spreading false facts in order to try to scare someone into buying some unnecessary product. PEOPLE, you do not need a relay or any other product to ground your parking brake out. Just ground the wire out as the video here shows. Your radio will work great. I've been installing radios for years been doing this multiple times never having any problems. You will not "burn out your radio", that is complete BS and a scare tactic to try to fool yo

The Camara will only stay on when u put it to reverse cuz that's its power sorce if u want it on all the time then the reverse wire from the Camara connect it to a acc wire so it will turn on right along with the stereo and off when the car is off

IF UR IF BRAKE IS BYPASSED MAKE SURE U TEST IT B FORE U REASSEMBLE
TURN OFF THE STEREO AND TURN IT BACK ON AND SEE IF U CAN STILL SEE THE VIDEO IF NOT THEN U NEED TO ADD A TOGGLE SWITCH ... SO U CAN TURN ON N OFF THE GROUND CURRENT
