Pulling him away should not be done so fast. Do it slowly or you just help the fish pull more line and then swim down and cut you off or pop the line through too much drag.

Captain Bobby got us onto some good fish that day we landed 2 GT's; 1 round 5kg and one round 15kg. We were throwing poppers close to the reef, fishing 37kg braid with drags set to 10kg, The fish my brother hooked up looked very big and I think regardless of reversing speed, we had little chance of gettin him away from the reef. Thanks for commmets though, GT fishing is f'n fun!!
