What is the machine at 8:00? A cultivator?

The only thing that would make this video better would be if you had words pop up explaining what you're doing or what you're driving for those of us interested in learning about farming.

how much does one bag of that pionee seed corn cost

@redneckfarmer Hey nice video really like the irrigatior tire changer machine i wish we had one like that

@southwestfamilyfarms That surprises me. There's guys pulling 16 row 1770 CCS with fert. here with 8920 magnums and 8110 JDs. Not that they are runaways, but I figured carrying some of the weight would help. We need to eventually get to two 40' planters and don't really have a need for another 250-300 hp tractor hanging around the rest of the year at this point.
Lyrics correction: It's not the money that keeps me ridin' this auto-steered John Deere tractor haha not to hate but you could save yourself alot of tech fees and just drive straight, old-school you know?

@dieselsmoke2010
The tech fees are worth it and then some. Crunch the numbers.

How small of a tractor do you think you could get by with on one of these planters. I see Deere recommends 250+ hp. Seems a bit overkill to me. I was wondering if a 7920 would pull one with 500 gallons of fert. or so.

@redneckfarmer I really think that would be pushing it. It is a must to have the high volume hydraulic pump especially if your fert. pump is hypro or other hydraulic pump. With the CCS fan, Dual Vacuums, VRD, etc. hydraulic oil can get pretty warm if you don't have sufficient flow. I would say it may struggle if you have any hills.
