ere's a quick vid of the fourth custom van that I've produced. This was origianlly a boring cargo van with an empty stock interior. I painted the van using the $50 dollar paint job technique,(google it if you want more info), and sprayed the stripes on. For the inside I used 20" x 20" pieces of carpet tile with industial strength glue, two sided carpet tape and a staple gun to hold it all in place while it dries. The staples still need to be removed. Custom grille and flare kit were all purchased from ebay stores. Chrome trim around the marker lights and the brake lights was purchased at Canadian Tire. This has been done on a budget and if you're willing to put a bit of time on to it, you can have a pretty cool van for not much at all.

  • Oh ok. Just to make sure hehe. Clean, then tape area that's not to be painted, then sand with wet/dry sanpaper 1000 grit over area to be painted, then roll on the paint? =)

  • @Ocimproductions That's right. And when you're sanding, you're just rouging up the surface so that the paint sticks; you're not trying to sand away the old paint. Good luck and have fun

  • Stupid question but can you roll on the stripes as well? Because that's what in thinking of doing and how many coats should I put? And how do get the stripes to even out with the body paint? Thanks

  • @Ocimproductions You can totally roll on stripes. I would just use straight up Tremclad with nothing added. First clean the surface with the stuff from Canadian Tire or any auto shop. Second, tape it off and third, scuff the spot to be painted with a 1000 grit sand paper but DO NOT WET IT, (use the wet/dry stuff but don't add water). After it's good and dry, wax it by hand with the stuff from the auto shop. Make vids :)

  • where could i get some teardrop windows at?

  • @camarolover1982

Scrapyards, sometimes ebay. Look for old vans that have them that are sitting and never move. Ask the owners if you canhave pieces off it, it's worked for me in the past.
