  • Grew up watching Jiggs MacDonald on the Islanders broadcasts. He still fills in on games occasionally. He sounds different here, but then he was much younger. Future Rangers Dale Rolfe and Ted irvine playing. And how about Paul Terbenche. What a name from the distant past. Also, people remember the infamous Phil Esposito trade like the Hawks got nothing in return, but they did get Pit Martin, who was a pretty nifty player who had some good years for the Hawks.

  • great footage

  • @Soxogram that would be interference

  • If I remember correctly Blackhawks goalie Denis DeJordy was traded to the Kings a few season later for goalie Gerry Desjardins and defensemen Bil White who was pretty solid.

  • I think the reason it wthis game played off as an upset of sorts was that the Hawks had finished the previous season in 1st place but were upset by the Leafs in the last Original 6 playoffs in which Sawchuk was huge. This same season saw Iron Man goalie Glenn Hall taken by the St Louis Blues in the expansion draft. The Hawks would finish 4th in the Eastern Division this season then knock off the Rangers in the playoffs before being eliminated by teh Canadiens

  • Looks like Sawchuk in goal for Kings..

  • At about 3:17 when Dennis Hull drops the pass back behind the net, why didn't number 2 (Bill White maybe?) body check the King player chasing after Hull? He was just standing there watching the play.

  • Wow Brian Kilrea and Brian Smith both score in this game.Does anyone from Ottawa know those two?

  • This game was played on October 22, 1967. It was Chicago's sixth game of the 1967-68 season--and their sixth loss. They didn't win until their eighth game of the season. Under the circumstances, was the Kings' win really a big upset?

  • With a good directional antenna, we were able to pick up these games on LA Channel 5 (KTLA), from San Diego.... followed late on Saturday Nights by "Seymour Presents".
