Aggressive afternoon in wet condition, from New York to New Jersey

2:00 - Start
2:29 - Be careful of water spots. This could flip a car.
3:30 - Chasing the cop
4:05 - Didn't know I had to take an exit
6:00 - Checking my messages
9:15 - That van was asking for trouble
14:00 - Slow traffic on right please
17:55 - Ice storm
18:25 - Prefer to be on the right
28:32 - Aggressive bus, avoided getting side tracked at 28:46
29:28 - Plenty of room
30:00 - 95+
32:05 - Making a right exit, only to find out that it's not the exit at last minute. Unclear direction.
35:52 - When turning on tight traffic, drive as if you're in India. There's a lot more space than it seems.
33:57 - Squeezing through tight spaces. About to say that car needs to turn faster, but there was traffic, so it's all good.
40:02 - No reason to wait in line just because there's an incoming left.

  • damn your taste in music sucks

  • @ballinlough12345 Thanks for watching :-)

  • I also have the Lumix FZ35. What settings did you use for this? Or when you are driving in your other vids? Do you use the Creative movie mode, or just set it to iA and press the record button?

  • @AFNenlighten I used the movie mode. iA didn't seem to give good quality.

  • @rtviews Thanks - now for a few questions about your movie mode settings :)

Exposure Mode, P,A,S, or M? ISO Sensitivity, Auto, or manually set? Do you use ISO limit? For White Balance, AWB or use the "sunny setting? Continuous AF, off or on? Which of the 3 Metering modes? I. Exposure, Off, Low or High? Continuous AF, on or off?

Sorry for all of the questions, but after searching DP forums,Steve's forums, and even the user group on Vimeo,

  • @AFNenlighten Exposure P, Sensitivity 400, White Balance AWB, AF/AE, Metering Mode 1st one, I.Exposure Off, Digital Zoom Off, Color Effect Warm, Stabilizer Mode1

Most of my highway driving is during sunset, so lighting hasn't been great, in addition to the wet, snowy condition. I haven't tested any of these modes against one another, so you might find a better setting. The only thing to note is to set focus to infinity/distance and leave it there.

  • What car do you drive, it seems pretty quiet.

  • What's the location? Where is this filmed? What's point A and point B?

  • @rtviews Thank you sir!

I looked for the "infinity" setting and found that it was in the scene mode with the "mountain" icon.

As an aside, I also purchased the DMW-LA3 barrel extender, then bought a 55 to 52mm step-down ring so I can use the filters from my Nikon FM film camera (which has been sold years ago). The only drawback to that is having to minimum zoom to at least 100mm or so to eliminate the "tunnel vision" but it's worth it.

Thanks for sharing your vids - please keep 'em coming :)

  • It's surprising that no one lists their settings. Even for the photos in those places I've mentioned and even the groups on Flickr, people rarely list their settings. Your vids are crystal clear and that's why I'm asking. .

Anyway, thanks for sharing your vids!
