I was doing take after take of Subdivisions, a relatively easy song (especially for a RUSH song!) and kept making stupid mistakes that ruined the shoots (thanks in no small part to the plethora of vanilla vodka and peach snapples I was pounding!), so at one point I decided to just roll the video and jam out to Limelight (a much more complex song) with very little practice just to vent my frustration and see what would happen, because sometimes those situations produce good results (remember, RUSH was MAD when they made 2112!!!!). Of course, with no tremolo on the guitar and no sampler box, not to mention that I suck at any soloing (on a good day!), the solo is lackluster at best. But, I'm sure it all sounds half decent to non-musicians...lol!!
Hey not bad my friend. Just a few hours of practicing the solo and you've got the song down. Everything else kicked ass. Nice sound, nice camera. Love the sound of the amp. Are you going to get one of those new Alex Lifeson Les Pauls coming out soon?

@SpAnKYnation44 - you're too kind! 'a few hours practice on the solo?" HA!! You got the wrong guy, I've been trying to get that fluid timing down for a couple years!!!!!!! We'll see what the likely outrageous price is on the LIFESON Les Paul. If it's limited edition I may get one, otherwise I'll wait because I'm spending thousands and thousands and thousands more on the RUSH tours. Doing about 6 in April, then the whole west coast in June!

This may be a temporary video because I really botched the solo (even more than my usual botching!) and should be able to do a better shoot. However, what will probably happen is I'll do a decent job on the solo and then make some dumb mistake in the easy rhythm section or miss an arpeggio in the chorus, whereas in this shoot the rest of the song sounds pretty decent for someone who only plays a couple times a month. Ho-hum! We'll see what I can (or can't) do!
