Watch the 1998 Mississippi State Bulldog football team come back late to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks. Coming into the 1998 season, MSU was expected to finish dead last in the SEC Western Division, but going into the final two weeks they were in 2nd place, trailing the Arkansas Razorbacks by only one game. The Razorbacks could have clinched the West title by beating the Bulldogs, and earned a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship title game, but it wasn't meant to be. MSU took an early lead in this game, but Arkansas roared back to take a 21-19 lead in the 2nd half, led by a stifling defense that had MSU's freshman quarterback Wayne Madkin running for his life most of the time. We pick up the action with a little over 4 minutes left in the game, as MSU's defense tries to stop Arkansas from running out the clock, and give their offense one last chance to try and win the game. Keep an eye on MSU QB Madkin, as he clearly does some growing up and makes some spectacular plays in what would end up being the decisive drive of the game.

I find it amusing that to this day people are still arguing over that field goal. No matter what anyone thinks, the officials were the only ones with the proper view to determine if the ball was inside the upright. They said it was good, and you have to take their word for it. Unless you're underneath the posts, like they were, you simply can't tell where the ball was when it passed by.

I was at this game. Lol. I was a Hogs fan and my buddy was a Miss st. Fan. We were going to the same college at the time and drove in for this game. He is the first dude on the goal post. Lol it was a long drive back to Texas

Madkin was great on that final drive. Actually, he had a great year and he was only a freshman. Unfortunately, it was his only great year though.

Wrong. It was only a 28 yd. field goal. Probably took a second to get to the crossbar. Now with that in mind, watch it again. By the time it was left of the goalpost it had already gone over the crossbar.

yes, clearly. bc the camera had a much better angle than the refs on the field standing directly under the goal posts, genius.

If you think the call was obvious then you clearly don't know the rules. I suggest you study up.
