Timecoded vinyl vs Traditional vinyl records

He was testing the different sounds in terms of scratching between a timecoded vinyl and a traditional vinyl. Which is why hes just scratching over and over, without any beat. Its just like any other instrument really.. i mean, if you heard a cymbal over and over.. you would think it sounded horrible, but when used in conjuncture with drums it sounds much better.
If he was actually doing scratches with a beat, it would sound much better.
