Info: An upcoming 2008 thriller written and directed by Rod Lurie. The story centers on female newspaper reporter (Kate Beckinsale) who outs a CIA agent and is imprisoned for refusing to reveal her source. Actor David Schwimmer plays Beckinsale's husband and Angela Bassett is the supportive editor in chief at the Washington newspaper where Beckinsales character works. Actor Noah Wyle portrays the lawyer placed in charge of defending her. The cast includes Matt Dillon as the prosecutor, Vera Farmiga as the CIA agent, and Alan Alda as the attorney who tries to free the reporter from jail.

It does not matter who the source was. If you promised to keep their identity safe, you have to do it. What kind of person are you if you are a betrayer and liar? As for her son, well, if my mother went to jail to protect someone's innocence and rights, I would be proud of her.

If you are not a person of principle, you are nothing. More people need to know that.

However, the ending wasnt irrelevant... i mean c'mon, she was her own kid! I felt really bad for that kid, I mean her mum even died cos she talked about it (>.<)'

@IamMagPie It wasn't very much, but the ideas were similar, it was pretty dramatized though. This is based on the case of Judith Miller who was jailed under similar fines for the leaking of a CIA agent's name (Valerie Plame). Judith was jailed for only 3 months (that I know of) under the Code of Confidentiality (which the main character of this movie followed). If you're really interested you can look the court case up and do a little more research, because that's all I'm aware of. :)

@Jerronman Well then I'm sorry you took time out of your day to debate with someone as to why this movie is terrible. I'm not even sure why you're looking and posting on this trailer if you don't like the movie; why not go find a movie you like and comment on that. The ending wasn't terrible, just because it doesn't end "happily ever after" doesn't mean it's a horrible ending.
