Rock the Belt

We are public relations students from Texas State Univeristy who have chosen to implement an event-packed seat belt safety campaign during Feburary in Lockhart, TX. The team's campaign is called "Rock the Belt" and is part of a national competition organized through the Public Relations Society of America. We want to improve seat belt usage and general car safety to the community of Lockhart, targeting children 11-14. According to the PRSSA press release concerning the competition, Safe Kids Buckle Up was chosen as the 2008 case study because of its unique concentration on childhood safety. "Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death of children ages three to 14." Lockhart is a wonderful town with people in the community who really care. Our work in Lockhart is to open the eyes of soon to be drivers about the importance of buckling up and helping younger siblings to do the same. With your help we can create safety awareness that will last long after we are gone
