Inflation pressures eased a bit in April despite the biggest jump in food prices in 18 years. The Labor Department reported Wednesday that consumer prices edged up 0.2 percent last month, compared to a 0.3 percent rise in March. (May 14)
I don't understand. How? Inflation is spiraling out of control in the area of retail. If you don't have a lot of time on your hands to clip coupons and compare prices, you going to suffer financially. I was at the store today. Prices are incrementally rising on staples like canned vegetables and rice. The dollar is failing. Demand for food, however, is naturally inelastic. So commoners are going to be hurt badly.
the point of the story is that it says inflation is less now. which is, again, absolute horseshit, so i agree with you.
