Pulling up Vinyl floor in the kitchen

Pulling up the vinyl floor down to the concrete slab. Getting ready to put down ceramic tile. It actually took about 4 or 5 hours to pull up all of the vinyl. But with time-lapse video, you can see the entire video in a minute and a 1/2. Enjoy.

It's a concrete slab. The contractor I questioned recommended that I completely clear the floor then put the tile on top of slab.

It did until I figured out that if you add a little bit of hot water, it comes right up. Of course that wasn't until about 5 hours in. As you can see in the video. If did help out when I had to do my bathroom. Same vinyl... Same process. And again. No asbestos. I checked with the flooring company.

Um. Yeah. Right. The house is only 12 years old. There is not asbestos in it. It was all paper and vinyl.

would have been easier on the back if he would have just used a garden hoe

Long Handle floor scraper you would have been done in less than an hour and no sore back.

whats worse is having to do it over wood .... imossible to remvoe.

why didn't you cement board right over it and tile on that ?
