    amazing how all these would be assasins just leave their riffle behind to be found with figerprints all over them, your government is so obviuos its actually insulting

    The story I heard was that the MLK assassination story broke just after the second (7 P.M. ET) feed of the "Evening News" ended, and that Walter Cronkite had already left the Washington bureau to head back to New York.

    Cronkite was brought back to the D.C. bureau.

    The second clip was from the West Coast feed of the "Evening News", which was also shown on the East Coast live around 9 or 9:30 ET (I don't recall which time).
