Sorry man, but this is totally acceptable. I'm from Dublin, and have also lived in Britain. The British are the same race as us, or haven't you noticed? What are you getting offended by? Another Irish bloke taking the piss out of our nationality with a few old stereotypes from the 70's? This is comedy - Spike is taking the piss - everything is fair game, or at least it should be. Spike was a genius, don't be a dick.

Spike's coffin was wrapped in the Irish flag at his own request and his headstone epitaph reads 'I told you I was sick' in Gaelic, he assumed it would be in English but the church authorities objected, but compromised by allowing it as gaeilge.
