8-1-11 UPDATE:
Craigslist has been undergoing a bunch of updates recently - you can only see your ads by the month.
they now have a feature to click RENEW on an ad. However, I'm finding that sometimes CL won't let you renew an ad for quite a while - so best workaround is either open a 2nd account if you can or better yet, change up your ad and post it as a completely different one - remember, ads can get stale after a while.

Reposting an existing Craigslist ad is pretty simple.

Why would you do this? Rather than wait for it to
expire, which is usually 30 days, you can repost
your ad so that it shows up higher on the results.

In some catagories and cities, over 100 ads are posted
per day causing your ad to fall down into the abyss very
quickly.

However, you must delete your old ad or run the risk
of overposting and having your account banned for life.

See my other training video on how to do this with
your backpage account.

  • I try this but my ad never appears. It only appears if it is brand new. If I delete my old one and post a new one it says it is active and from today but when I search for it it's not there.

  • @DjZephy argh! youtube didn't post my first attempt at responding to your question... ok, here it is again. Remember, you need to wait about 3 days before you repost the same ad or else CL might ghost it. Another consideration is if you are using URL shorteners like bitly - CL won't allow them.

Finally, try posting a different ad and see if it shows up to verify your account has been banned. If that one shows up you should be ok.

  • @innercirclemasters i meant to say, to verify that your account has NOT been banned. I still use this tactic successfully to this day. One challenge is gmail and CL have made it harder to create new accounts when you don't have any more convenient phone numbers to use for verification.

  • when you repost does it go back to the top??

  • @wcchalo yes, it will be posted with the latest listings

  • true, but in some cities your ad will be well off page 1 before 7 days go by - so this is a workaround...

another option - more time consuming - would be to write a 2nd ad that is different than the original

  • dam it CRAIG !

  • @innercirclemasters I figured out the problem. All I did was delete the post and then click repost. But I didn't realize that Craigslist updates their listings every 15 minutes, so I had to wait a little. Thanks.

  • Good information. Thank you.

  • wouldnt it be easier if you know they just had a 'repost' button on screen ?

  • how do u repost?
