Maybe you don't have much expertise seeing this is an automatic and most semi trucks use manual transmissions.
What you do is, you set the transmission shift lever into "D" (drive; highest forward gear). It will automatically upshift and downshift.

Great truck I really like it!

This is even more rare due to the Allison automatic transmission. What model is the transmission, BTW? HT-740, HT-754CR or HT-750DR?

You must know your Alison transmissions. It's a HT-750CRD model. What can you tell me about it?

@DiamondReoRaider
The HT-750CRD and the subsequent HT-754CRD are 5-speed close-ratio automatics with automatic operation in all five gears, whereas the deep-ratio DRD models have a manually-shifted 1st gear.

@ClassicTVMan81 thanks for the info. How do you know so much about Alison transmissions? I will be taking the truck to the ATHS show next week in Pleasanton CA. It's 900 miles or so. I don't have much experience driving with this transmission. Does seem like much to it though. Anything I should know about driving it? I wish it would hold a gear before shifting down a little longer but the way it's set up it shift down a gear at just under 1600 RPMs even with no load.
