Ustad Rashid Khan Performing in Noida, India on Friday, March 20th, 2009. He is singing Rag Kalavati with the use of Swara Ma in this video. You can hear many different instruments in this recording including tabla, harmonium, sarangi, and guitar. I believe there are two tabla players as well.

  • This sounds like a bhajan in Rag Kalavati with the use shuddha Ma. Many bhajans don't stick to one rag but have variation of notes in them. Bhimsen Joshi also uses this mixture of ragas in a Bhajan.

  • Sri Radhe Govnd Hari...Aap hi ko Prabhu or Khud milte hain Khan saab...

  • Isn't Raag Kalavati with the use of shuddha Ma considered then Jansamohini? Or does Jansamohini have to use Re and Ma together?

  • Only In India can you see such unity in diversity with respect for all systems of belief. Ustad Rashid Khan is a true artist who is singing this devotional song, with utmost respect & sincerity. Wah kya baat hai, Jio Ustadji. God Bless you. Thanks for the upload, I enjoyed it immensely. RK is truly a national icon & a role model :)
