Summer Project - Realised Film Outcomes.

"As people roamed from region to region, the body continued to prove inadequate for certain environments, thus the need for protective clothing...."

This pair of films stem from an investigation into the instincts behind dressing and the notion of adorning a garment. The outcomes, including a cloak, body wrap and scarf explore the idea of protection through the weight of a fabric that when applied - distorts the figure. In an attempt at a grandiose gesture, one adopts objects - worn traditionally as talismans to draw attention. The body of work subverts the role of clothing and accessories from that of function and modesty to attention grabbing, embarassing and awkward.
